When an alternative to a woollen nappy cover is required, the microfibre wrap comes into play.
This is made of a specially designed type of plastic, which has the essential waterproof feature but is breathable.
Standard covers are so impermeable that not only liquids, but also vapour cannot escape, and air cannot reach baby’s skin. A hot, humid atmosphere develops, and fungal rashes and sore skin are inevitable.
These microfibre covers are created using a knitted synthetic fibre fabric, covered with a fine, microporous layer of rubber. The pores in this layer of rubber are so small that liquids cannot pass through, but vapour can escape and air can get into the nappy.
So the microfibre nappy cover stays leakproof and baby’s skin can breathe freely.
